Wandering on my Bicycle

The Pentax K70 is great for landscape photography. These were shot using the Pentax 35mm lens. Love this lens.

Stopped in Orinda for a break. Got some tea at Peet’s. A little energy for the pedal home.

I really don’t eat much on my bicycle rides anymore. The lockdown and not being able to go inside to get something to eat stopped me from getting anything.

It doesn’t help that the places I enjoyed stopping at have closed and the ones that are open I refuse to pay the high prices. Not like my wages are keeping up.

I haven’t rode on Alhambra for a couple of years. The left side of the road was mostly gone. There was a stop sign because only one car could go at a time. It finally got fixed and looks good.

I did pretty good riding Bear Creek Road to San Pablo Dam Road. Not much of a hill rider still wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.

So according to the groundhog there will be six more weeks of winter. In the San Francisco Bay Area winter went on vacation. Great weather for bicycle riding.

Keep pedaling

Sunday Bicycle Ride

San Pablo Ave meets 23rd Street. No car traffic. Kind of spooky. But since Omicron has paid a visit seems people are back to staying inside.
I took this picture because I liked the sky.

Decided to stop by REI and talk about sticker shock. Prices are nuts. I guess I won’t need anything at this time. But high prices seems to be the theme for 2022.

Decided to stop at Barnes and Noble for green tea with blueberries. To sit inside I have to show my vaccine card. At least I got some reading in.

Not a bad ride for a Sunday.

Pedaling Around

I was on my bicycle and rode right by it and it didn’t even move. So I got a nice picture of it.

Got lucky when I shot this picture. It was a quick point and shoot.

I always enjoy my pedaling around. Never know what I’m going to see. If it wasn’t for work I would get rid of my car. Really don’t need it, but it is too far to pedal to work. Can’t wait for retirement.

I take a lot of pictures of birds. I like watching birds do their thing. I find it very relaxing.
Pedaling around the industrial section of Richmond.

I’m usually getting 30 to 40 miles on my bicycle rides. Just running errands or checking out different cities.

Last Day of 2021

Decided to ride Highway 1 and take some pictures.

A nice morning view.
At Pigeon Point Lighthouse. Too bad I couldn’t go in to have a look.
This is my favorite picture of 2021. I got lucky when I shot this picture. I saw the pelicans fly by and I just lifted the camera and shot.
Sitting on the beach and watching and listening to the waves. This is very relaxing.

So a new year begins. I don’t really care. It is all the same. Going to take day by day and hope for the best.

Rainy Days

The rain has decided to visit and it isn’t nice. Making up for the dry spell.

Since I don’t like riding a bicycle in the rain it means time for walking. I don’t mind walking in the rain.

If it isn’t raining when I leave I will hop on the bicycle and take my chances. If I’m caught in the rain that is okay. I won’t start in the rain.

I like how this picture turned out. The bird has a nice strut going.
Looking for a snack.

I don’t mind rain, but not every day. Some spots have horrible drainage.

Friday the rain stopped for a minute and I went on a bicycle ride. The water in some parts of the bike/walk path were big and deep. Really had to take it slow. Good thing I have fenders on my bicycle.

It is fun to watch a bicyclist with no fenders going through one of the large puddles. Especially if they are going to fast. The water stripe on the back can be pretty thick.

Fun to watch a walker try to go around it by walking through the grass and their feet just sinks. Just because the ground looks solid, it isn’t. Sometimes one has to know when to turn around.

Looks like Monday the rain is going to take a break. Means an after work bicycle ride. Get to check the damage.

Sometimes being in a drought isn’t a bad thing. But it seems that it either rains in bunches or doesn’t rain at all.

Wandering Thoughts

Taken with my Pentax K-70 with 28mm Pentax vintage lens. Turkeys walked so close to me I could of petted them.

Got off work and stopped in Albany to go to my favorite sushi spot and got a bento box.

Stopped to get my Mega. The only time I play if it is over one hundred million. Don’t have any luck with Mega and I don’t like paying $2 per ticket. But who knows.

BART says their employees must be vaccinated by 13 December. Rumor has it no one in Central, the people who keep BART trains running, are not vaccinated. If they stay the course are BART trains going to run on 14 December. Stay tuned.

Oori Rice Triangles is one of my favorite places to go. The spicy pork triangles is my favorite. Pork and rice wrapped in seaweed. Last time I went you had to order on a ipad and swipe you credit or debit card. No cash.

My dad gave me a Kodak Retina 1a camera that he had since 1954. I never saw him use it while growing up. When he found out I was shooting film he gave it to me.

Basically it is like a new camera. It is one of my favorite camera to use. Pictures come out pretty good. Though I’m not that great of a photographer.

Right now I’m using my Pentax K1000 film camera. I’m using my last roll of black and white film. Need to take it on my bicycle ride on Saturday. If I can get up early I will ride out to Mill Valley.

So life is on hold until Saturday.

Topeak Handlebar bag

My Topeak handlebar bag.

I like the Topeak Tourguide Handlebar Bag. For me this is the perfect size. Has a divider. Makes for a good camera bag.

I also like my Topeak trunk bag. Can always handle what I need to carry. I am a fan of Topeak bags for my bicycle.

I can’t even picture my bicycle without my gear. I see bicycles without any gear and the bicycle looks strange.

Every bicycle ride is an adventure as far as I’m concerned.

Wandering Aimlessly

Decided to take a road trip to Mt Shasta. Always good to take a road trip just to get away from the San Francisco Bay Area.

I enjoyed the drive. Always like taking long drives. I left the house at 0200 because I like driving when it is dark. So peaceful.

Just some pictures of my wandering around Mt. Shasta. I love the towns in upper part of California.

Some pictures of my bicycle ride to Martinez and Benicia.

I was not feeling this bicycle ride. My legs were not feeling that strong, but I kept pedaling on. I did think about heading into Crockett. But that didn’t work out.

My legs hate me or I hate my legs. I guess it depends on who you ask.

Too Hot

I’m not a fan of bicycle riding in the heat, but I don’t control the weather. Yeah it was too hot.

Riding at Bayfront Park in Pinole. There were no people around today. Not that I’m complaining. It is nice to have the quiet.

If it is a hot day the best thing for me to do is ride along the bay. Usually a nice breeze off the water.

Stopped by REI in Berkeley to get a couple of things. Not too many people inside though I get there after 1200. Plenty of parking at the bicycle rack. Times have changed. Before lockdown get there around 1200 and the bicycle racks were full.

Probably my favorite cycling cap. The alien cycling cap from hizoku cycles. Like the way it fits on my head. The aliens probably not too thrilled, but that is life.

At least the bike/walk trails were pretty quiet. Nice when I don’t have to deal with the crowds.

Took a break in Albany and to a peak at how my cryptocurrency is doing. Usually I don’t look at it on weekends. Surprise it is up. But not that I’m jumping up and down with excitement. Because it can go down just as fast.

Personally I think people making a big score on a cryptocurrency and becoming a millionaire is over. Not that people won’t make profits. It is part of my investments and I’m happy that I’m making a profit.

It was a good day to be on the bicycle even though it was too hot.
