Nothing like a little nap while on a bike ride. View was excellent and it was so peaceful. This is why I ride.

Weird
Sometimes manager’s don’t understand. When I was going to college in the late 90’s I had this incident with a manager.
I’m in the break room reading my Linguistic homework. The break room was a good place to go because few people used it. Dave a manager came in and asked, “What are you reading now?” I answered, “My Linguistic reading.”
He asked, “What is linguistics and why study it?”
I answered, “It is the study of language. Right now I am reading about the English language. I think it is interesting to see how the English language has evolved.”
Dave shook his head and asked, “Why study it? What are you going to do with it?”
“It is learning something. for example, I didn’t know that English was part of the Germanic language. For example hair-English, haar-German, or have-English, haben-German, or hard-English, hart-German. Hear the similarities. Now let’s take it a bit further. This is Gothic, also Germanic, jah witandans wahtwom nahts ufaro hairdai seinai.”
“Same thing in Old English, hydras waeron on tham ylcan rice waciende, & nihtwaeccan healdende ofer heora heorda.”
Now Middle English, And schepherdis weren in the same cuntre, wakinge and hepinge the watchis of the nyzt on her fick.”
Low German, “Unde de herden weren in der suluen iegenode wakended. Unde helden de wake auer ere schape.”
Present day English, “And shepherds were in the same land abiding and keeping watch by night over their flocks.”
“Now if you notice it sounds the same or you can pick out words that sound similar. Now over the years English has had many influences from other European languages, until we have the English we speak today. Some people are trying to map all the languages to one starting language, in other words, did humans at one time speak one language. That is exciting, even if I only take this one course.”
Dave shook his head and said, “You are a weird person. If you concentrated on your job like you do on your interests, you would probably be a manager by now.” Dave left the break room and I can go back to my reading.
He was wrong about me not concentrating on my job. I did my job. I admit I didn’t play politics. I guess going to college wasn’t adding any points to improving myself.
I still read my books about all kinds of topics because I still like learning new things. Guess I’m still weird and I have no plans on changing.

Developed for athletes and body-builders, also highly beneficial for children, men and women of all fitness levels…
Our New LIQUID AMINO protein supplement is a major sports nutrition formula, but provides a wide range of essential nutritional benefits for people of all ages, from children to seniors, men and women at all levels of fitness. It’s one of the most versatile, multi-functional nutritional supplements an individual can include in their daily healthcare regimen.
Collagen is a protein compound naturally synthesized by the body, consisting of a unique amino acid and peptide profile. Although collagen protein is used primarily as a dietary supplement to help promote the development of lean muscle mass through the metabolism of fat, it also has an essential role in nourishing body cells and enzymes; It’s beneficial for supporting healthy metabolic function and maintaining the structure of connective tissues including skin, bone, joints,
tendons, ligaments and cartilage.
Collagen is extracted from bovine (beef) sources utilizing a process called hydrolysis, making it more digestible and more readily absorbed by the body.
After the initial extraction of collagen, it is then concentrated through a
sterile evaporation process, desiccated (all fat removed), pulverized, then finely-milled into a nutraceutical-grade powder and liquefied for easy digestion and efficient utilization.
LIQUID AMINO Collagen Protein provides these major benefits:
Helping Alleviate Symptoms of Arthritis…
Collagen Protein supplementation helps reduce some of the regular problems associated with arthritis, including rheumatoid arthritis. This common chronic inflammatory condition causes inflammation of joints and surrounding tissues.
According to recent research articles, people who suffer from chronic arthritis typically have lower levels of collagen in their joints. Inflammation and immune system response can contribute to the destruction of the body’s natural collagen.
By maintaining sufficient levels of collagen in the body, people can help alleviate joint pain and stiffness typically associated with arthritis.
Supporting Healthy Skin, Hair, Nails and Teeth…
Collagen makes up 75% of your skin. Unfortunately, the body’s own collagen production slows down considerably when you reach your mid 20’s. That’s why adequate daily collagen protein supplementation helps revitalize the youthful texture and naturally healthy appearance of skin, as well as hair, nails and teeth.
Collagen is needed for maintaining healthy skin because it’s necessary for the normal regeneration of healthy skin tissues; Supplementing high quality collagen protein can improve the body’s ability to build new skin cells.
Research has suggested that the moisture content of skin, its natural elasticity and smoothness benefit from dietary intake of Collagen protein. This may be due to the increased density of collagen fibrils and the fibroblasts (the main cells of the dermis and the cells responsible for producing collagen).
Collagen supplementation is recommended to help clear up skin, reducing the appearance of acne, eczema, and some scars. According to a recent article published in the “Journal of Pediatric Endocrinology and Metabolism,” proper collagen supplementation is safe and beneficial for nutritionally supporting the treatment of acne in teenagers and adolescents.
Supporting Healthy Bones and Overall Skeletal Health…
Several studies have shown that regular daily intake of hydrolyzed collagen increases bone mass density, including healthy tooth structure. It appears that hydrolyzed collagen peptides stimulate beneficial “osteoblasts” activity, assisting the cells that build bone while stopping the action of “osteoclasts” the cells that destroy bone.
Natural Energy Booster For Workouts and Exercise Recovery Process…
Collagen’s natural ability to speed the recovery process after exercise,
especially after intensive training is crucial; Not only is it beneficial for
assisting lean muscle growth, it’s also helpful for revitalizing and rebuilding joints, while reducing activity-related joint pain.
It’s important to know that collagen protein is not stored as fat, but is used efficiently by the body as protein energy. Each serving of LIQUID AMINO Collagen Protein supplies the highest quality protein, with the essential amino acids a body needs; The collagen is vital for supporting the strength of internal structures and the precious energy required for rapid rebuilding.
Powerful Nutritional Booster For Athletes and Non-Athletes Too…
Regular physical training by athletes, sports and fitness enthusiasts produces stressful reaction forces on their joints and tendons, especially compared to average people. Athletes experience intense shock absorption from constant training which can result in joint degradation over time.
By improving the shock-absorbing capacity of the joints through collagen- enhanced nutritional intake, it could help prevent injury while allowing for more effective performance training.
Since Hydrolyzed Collagen has been shown to promote an anabolic (building) effect on cartilage tissue, the rationale for it improving joint structure and integrity in athletes, ultimately leading to a reduction in joint pain, is well-grounded .
Helping Reduce Visible Signs of Aging…
As people get older, the body naturally produces less of its own collagen. This eventually increases a person’s risk for developing arthritic conditions and can also cause wrinkles to develop, contributing to the visible signs of aging.
Although many commercial collagen products for aging are typically available in a topical ointment or cream that is applied directly to skin, a recent scientific study published in “Journal of Food Science” showed how regular oral collagen supplementation improved the collagen content and appearance of skin as well.
Safe To Use As A Nutritional Supplement…
Hydrolyzed collagen, like gelatin, is made from bovine (beef source) by-products. It has a good, synergistic effect with other nutritional proteins. The risk of collagen overdose is low due to the water-solubility of collagen. That‘s why any collagen that your body does not use is naturally excreted by the body.
Easy, Efficient Digestibility with Excellent Bioavailability…
The bioavailability of hydrolyzed collagen has been demonstrated in laboratory- controlled studies, with more than 90% typically digested and absorbed within 6 hours, with measurable accumulation in cartilage and skin, it is one of the healthiest and most cost-effective sources of protein available.
Supplies Complete Amino Acids In Optimal Balance, As Nature Intended…
Hydrolyzed collagen contains 20 amino acids (essential and non-essential), it’s a particularly rich source of Glycine, Proline and Hydroxyproline, important for promoting lean muscle tone.
Amino Acids | Percentage |
Proline and Hydroxyproline | 25% |
Glycine | 20% |
Glutamic acid | 11% |
Arginine | 8% |
Alanine | 8% |
Other essential amino acids | 16% |
Other non-essential amino acids | 12% |
Sometimes it is not About the Bike but the Hike
Hiking at Point Isabel is nice but not a fan of the homeless camps. They are hidden but the dogs running around and one that thinks it is guarding it’s turf is a pain. Since there is no camping at Point Isabel maybe it is time to move them out if they can’t control their dogs. The artwork they do on rocks is pretty good though.

Hiking Crockett Hills
Some views from the Crockett hills using my Nokia panoramic app on my Lumia phone. Not a bad little app. Gives an idea of the view.
The Crockett hills can be a rough hike at certain parts. The climbs are can be pretty rough. But the view is always worth the climb.
Some of the trails dead end or are hard to follow. Grass has grown and when a fork in the hard to tell which way to go. Trails could be marked better. But still a good way to spend the day exploring.

Tax Time and other things
Another tax season done. Yep it is over once I get my taxes done. Didn’t hurt too much. Got a little money back so all is good. As long as I don’t have to pay it is good.
The weather has been nice lately. Too much I mostly did my gym work. But it is always good to change things up. I got to go with the feeling while it is there.
Gun bunkers at the Marin Headlands.
Washington is thinking about a $25 tax on bicycles that cost over $500. What nonsense. All politicians do is find ways to take money. Why don’t they start by cutting government waste.
Biking
See the rain has returned. I’m ready for the rain to leave and the weather to warm up. I’m ready for some nice comfortable riding.
Gas prices are starting to go up again. Almost $4.00 in the San Francisco Bay Area. Always nice to hop on the bike and avoid paying for gas. I glad I’m healthy enough to ride my bike wherever I need to go. It is nice to have a little spending money, but when it all comes down to it I rather have my health and be broke.

Riding San Pablo Bay in Richmond CA
Love riding my bike along San Pablo Bay in Richmond CA. Taking a nice mellow ride enjoying the sights and the sounds. Always something different to see.
The bike/walk path is really nice. The irritating thing is the spandex riders. Speeding along like it is their personal path to ride like a bat out of hell. Dodging and startling people while they are walking. At least they should have a bell, oh I forgot it will cause wind resistance and slow them down, or at least call out. Just go ride in the street or find a nice quiet road and ride like a bat out of hell.

Wandering Aimlessly
I remember when riding my bike was about speed. How fast can I go and get from point A to point B. Then it was about just going fast. Now it is just about getting on the bike and going slow and steady and enjoying the sights.
My bike has twenty-seven speeds. A small, medium, and large chain ring. Seems a waste since I mostly stay in the small chain ring and am pretty happy. Probably just need nine speeds. Long as I have a granny gear I’m happy. The only way I can get up hills.
Hello January, hello cold bike riding. I guess it beats riding in the rain, but the cold weather makes me urinate more. Wake me when it is spring.
The Gates of Hell at Stanford University. I enjoyed spending a day there. Enjoyed the Cantor Arts Center. Lot of good things to see and the best part was that admission is free.
