Didn’t Go as Planned

The plan was to ride to REI and Barnes and Noble in Corta Madera. That never happened.

The weather was nice except for the wind that decided to visit and go crazy. The wind just can’t behave.

I hit the rest area in Larkspur and decide to take a break. Had some walnuts and read my book. Should have never pulled out the book. Like I’m really going to stick to my schedule now.

I am going to stick to one stop that I had planned for my bicycle ride. Going to the Larkspur Library. Never been there and I want to have a look around. I like libraries and can resist a break and a look inside.

What a surprise. Got there a little early and the library isn’t open. It opens at 1200. So I will take a walk around downtown Larkspur. Not that it is a big downtown.

Some pictures of my walk around downtown Larkspur.

I like the Larkspur Library. It is a nice place to take a break and get some reading in. I like libraries and I will always stop at one to have a look around. Some are set up better than others.

For my final pedal home I decide to take Rumrill Blvd. Lucky for me car traffic was light because there are not a lot of bicycle lanes. It beats hitting 23rd Street or San Pablo Ave. The ride down Rumrill Blvd saves me some time.

Even when a bicycle ride does not go as planned it is still nice to be on the bicycle. It is a nice way to get around and spend the day wandering.

Orinda Moraga Lafayette

No rain or clouds so I’m heading off to San Pablo Dam Road. Really want to ride to Moraga but plans don’t always go as planned in my head.

I hit Glorietta Blvd and this should take me to Rheem Blvd. But that is not how it worked out. I didn’t pay attention to the sign to Moraga and ended up going to Lafayette.

Since I’m in Lafayette might as well stop at Taco Bell for lunch.

Thinking about hopping on BART to Orinda BART station because I know the climbs are going to be rough. When I seen the street sign that read Moraga Road so I had to take it.

I ended up on Rheem Blvd any way. So mission accomplished.

So the climb on Rheem heading to Glorietta Blvd is a rough one. I knew I would hit a climb on the way back. But the coast to Glorietta Blvd is worth it.

I decide to stop at the Orinda Library for a break. I want to get some rest and reading in before the final pedal home. So glad to have the libraries open again. Life is good.

It was a nice bicycle ride. The only way to spend the day.
