Bicycle Mumblings

I started to do some virtual challenges. Motivates me more to ride and walk. If I like how the medal looks I will sign up for the challenge.

This is one of my favorite rest stops.
This my favorite medal from Ace Races.

Bicycling seems to be slowing down since the lockdown ended. Not as many bicyclist out and I got my resting spots back.

At the Eastbay Parks there are still a lot of cars with bicycle racks. This the result of people buying mountain bicycles and that is where the dirt is.

Never been a mountain bicycle fan. Too limiting. I like having racks and fenders. I mostly ride on the streets. Not too good on a mountain bicycle. You will destroy the knobby tires.

July has arrive and so has the wind. Riding into a headwind is like riding uphill. Pray that a hill doesn’t show up. A double whammy. My legs hate me.

The bicycle commuters in San Francisco are starting to return to Market Street. After over a year of an empty Market Street it was weird to see all the bicyclist.

I still hate being called a cyclist. Just sounds like I should be on a road bicycle, wearing lycra and my shoes clipped in. I prefer to be called a bicyclist.

Hearst Publishing thanks for destroying Bicycling magazine. You have turned it into a piece of garbage not worth reading. Still the best bicycling magazines come out of Europe.

Car manufactures need to make a system where the driver does not use the turn signal after a couple of times the engine shuts off and it takes $1,000 to turn the car back on. Drivers are trying to kill me.

At least the bicycle infrastructure is coming along nicely even though a lot of bicycle lanes are empty. But I’m glad they are there.

Not like Pinole that only puts a sharrow on the road. Drivers do not care. Well at least Pinole is trying.

More when the mood strikes.
