A Windy Ride

July in the SF Bay Area feels like winter and I dressed like it. Sometimes I think winter is warmer than July. But at least I wasn’t burning up.

At least the roads weren’t crowded. People must have decided to stay inside.

Good thing the roads weren’t crowded. There is nothing worst than riding in the bike lane and glass from a busted car window was busted and the glass is in the bike lane. Have to make a quick swerve into the car lane. Good thing no cars were around.

Bike lanes can be the worst part of the road. Sometimes pot holes can be all through the bike lane.

Walkers are becoming the worst. Now walkers got to walk in the bike lane. The sidewalk isn’t good enough for them. Now I got ride into the car lane and tick off the car drivers.

Still the best way to spend my day is on my bike.

Goofing Off

Took the day off. Sometimes I have to do that to get away from the nonsense that is called a job. If I have to come back to this planet again as a human I want to be a trustfund kid.

So it is off on the bicycle. Might as well go see the sights and enjoy the nice weather. A ride to Crockett isn’t a bad way to spend the day. Then stop for a hamburger. Bike riding and hamburgers can’t go wrong with this combination.

The Pinole Shores to Bayfront Park bike/walk path still isn’t completed. So much for a June finish. As usual anything that takes taxpayers money projects are not completed on time and probably cost more to complete. Criminals.

In this day and age I would think that a computer program could come up with a cost and a completion date give or take a couple of weeks. But it is all about money and stealing money from taxpayers.

Probably won’t give the SF Bay Trail another dime. I already pay taxes, but I don’t like to think my donations are being wasted. Probably should be some accountability on their part.

I have other organizations that could probably use my money and it is not being wasted. Well at least in my mind.

Not fun climbing hills on a hot day. Can only drink so much water. But the coast down is always fun. I don’t pedal. Just enjoying the ride. I’ll let the road cyclist pedal while going downhill.

When I renewed for Bike East Bay the sent me a sticker that reads, “Bike Slowly, Snack Often.” That is my bicycle riding style. Not in a hurry to get anywhere. I have all day.

I have to give San Pablo California credit. They are doing a lot to create a safe biking and walking environment in the city. I like what they are doing. Makes riding a bicycle enjoyable. Who know one day San Pablo might be considered on of the great bicycle cities.

Problem is that Richmond California isn’t keeping up with San Pablo and when I hit the Richmond part it is back to full alert. No bike lanes.

Need to start remembering to bring my Chromebook when I’m on my bike rides. Doesn’t take up much space in my saddlebag but I keep forgetting to grab it. Always good to have it handy when I take a break.

Back to the gulag on Thursday so I guess I should begin the pedal home.

Just Pedaling Along

The fire smoke from Lake County blew down to the SF Bay Area. Makes for a weird sky. Now everything looks red. I’m on Mars.

I’m on my bike ride and I get shot by a water sprinkler and it felt good.

I like when a bicyclist put stickers and make their bikes different from others. Bike are meant to ride and looking like it.

There is something wrong when a bicyclist has a hissy fit when scratch is discovered. I’ve seen it and it looks pathetic.

At least it was a mellow bike ride. Nothing like pedaling along and enjoying the views.
