Saturday Bike Ride

Saw this old car parked in front of this old building. Couldn’t resist taking the picture.

I enjoy my Saturday bike rides. No route planned. Just hop on the bike and see where it takes me.

Time to take a break. No need to rush. Sit in the saddle and pedal until I feel it is time to take a break.

Someone lost their bumper or decided not to take it with them after an accident. Or they just threw it away.

Love Nutiva products. Headquarters in Richmond CA.

Love riding through Point Pinole on my way home. What great views. I find a spot to sit and relax before my final leg home. So glad that the bike/walk path was built in Point Pinole to connect to Richmond Parkway. Great ride from Point Richmond.

After a week of working and being stuck in a car it is nice to just be able to spend the day on the bike.

Bicycle Wandering

Taking a break by the Craneway building in Richmond, CA.

The old Ford Assembly Plant.

I have noticed that bicycle riders don’t wave as much. Not that it bothers me because I was never much of a waver. I was wondering it was me or do bicyclist wave less. So I waved at bicyclist and most did not wave back. Could be cycling isn’t a small group of people as it once was. Now there are more bicycle riders out and they just want to go about their business. But again it could be me.

I have given up on a bike lane on the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge. Caltrans keeps promising but nothing is done. Now a supervisor in Marin County is saying that another lane should be put on the upper part of the bridge.

Personally I think someone is paying off Caltrans or threatening to hold funds if the bike lane is put on the bridge. A bike lane should have been put on the bridge years ago.

In a way I find it funny that in the liberal bay area that worries about the environment and want to see people out of their cars and a bike lane can’t be built on the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge without a fight.

Still was a great day to be wandering on the bicycle.

A Day on the Bike

What I like about bike riding is when I see something I like I can stop quick and take a picture. Saw these old cars and had to take a picture.

A couple was pumping up their inflatable raft. The water was calm so it probably was a good day to take it out. The weather wasn’t too bad.

This hasn’t happened in a while, I caught the train. This will happen in Point Richmond. There is a railroad yard there.

I like old buildings. Better than the new buildings that seem soulless. Got to love the brinks.

Someone tipped their boat over. Probably been like that for a while. Hope know one died.

Always nice to speed a day on the bike. Ride out to El Cerrito and stop at Barnes and Noble. Still one of my favorite places to stop at. Stop at the cafe for some green tea. Get there early and it isn’t busy so I can get a table and do some reading. Still about bike and book.

On the ride home stop at the Starbucks in Point Richmond for a snack and coffee. Not busy so I grabbed a seat. Time to pull out the book.

One thing about the ride back is I get a nice head wind. Not what I want to pedal into but nothing I can do about it.

Still early so I decided to ride around Point Pinole. Was pretty crowded but I did find a table to sit at and enjoy my snack and water. Got to rest for the final pedal home.

Survived the bike ride. Got 32 miles in basically wandering around all day. Always a good way to spend the day. So it is time to put on some Hiroshima and relax.

Riding Around Crockett CA

Went bike riding around Crockett CA and it wasn’t bad. The weather was great.

Took my Olympus Om10 film camera with me to start taking pictures. Didn’t use the whole roll so got to take some more pictures. Hopefully they come out great.

Exploring by bike is great. Can stop and take a picture anywhere. In a car I would have to turn around and find a place to park. Get out and snap the picture.

Sometimes it is like seeing a city or town for the first time no matter how long I lived there or visited.

Get on your bike, carry a camera and explore your city.
