PT. Molate

PT. Molate isn’t quite the beach it was in the 1970’s when I was a kid. Can’t even swim there now. The parking lot is smaller too. Today was a nice day and no one was there.

The thing I don’t like is that there could be a lot of hiking but most of the surrounding areas is off limits,

There was talk about a trail that would connect PT. Molate with Point Pinole but I don’t see it happening anytime soon.

Still a nice place to get away from it all.

To The Bay

Hopped on the bike and headed to the bay. Seems to be my favorite ride. Sucks that my favorite ride has a sink hole and can’t get through. Easy to head to Martinez, Orinda and Briones.

Saw this lizard just resting in the shade. Didn’t even move while I set the camera on the ground to snap the picture.

Was high tide but the water was a nice blue.

Have to really keep my eyes on the ground. The grass and weeds are high and covering the trail at Bayfront park. Never know when a snake might be hanging out. Like to give them plenty of space. Not a snake person.

Stopped by Starbucks. Really like the midnight mint mocha. I know it is probably a calorie bomb but it was hot out and I had a nice bike ride. Back to green tea for the next couple of months.

Plans

Woke up this morning and thought I would go on a long quiet bike ride. Then I stopped at Peet’s for a green tea and pulled out my Men Without Women by Haruki Murakami. Dragged into Murakami’s world and no way out there went the long bike ride.

Not the first time my plans have changed so it is no surprise. In reality I hate making plans. Always mean I’m doing something I thought I wanted to do but now I don’t really want to do it.

Probably why I’m not a fan of having a job. I got to be somewhere I don’t want to be. But I have to pay the bills as they say.

At least I rode my bike to Peet’s.
