One thing the San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) has taught me is not to rely on it for commuting especially during contract talks. BART went on strike for four days and then went back to work. Management and unions are supposed to come up with a contract within 30 days. San Francisco Bay area has a week left and possibility of a strike ag
There may be a chance that commuters may have to come up with a way to get to work besides BART. People who have given up their cars are looking at standing in long lines for a bus or car pools. People who have cars will drive which means more cars on the road and longer commutes.
I’m glad I don’t need to rely on BART or the bus system. Don’t like to have my routine disrupted. The best thing for people to do is not rely on public transportation. Basically work where you live. Walk, bike, or short drive. I know sometimes easier said than done.
San Francisco is a rough place to work. Parking is expensive and living on the San Francisco side is expensive. Maybe time to rethink working in San Francisco.
